What are the signs of early menopause?

Early menopause is when a woman’s final period occurs before the age of 45. The presence of early menopause, also known as pre-menopause, can be determined by several physical and emotional signs. Most doctors say that menopause may be considered early if symptoms show up in the 20s, 30s or early 40s. The following are some physical and emotional signs to look for:

Physical Signs:

-Irregular Menstruation

-Infertility

-Hot flashes

-Vaginal Dryness

-Bladder control problems

-Poor sleep

-Heart palpitations

-Weight gain

-Drier, thinner skin that may feel tingly or itchy

-Headaches

 

-Breast Tenderness

-Stomach problems and nausea

-“Buzzing” sensation in your head

-Bloating

-Dizziness

-Sore joints and muscles

-Hair loss

-More facial hair

-Dry mouth

-Changes in Body Odor

Emotional Signs:

-Irritability

-Mood swings

-Decreased sex drive

-Anxiety

-Trouble concentrating

-Decreased energy/increased fatigue

-Memory Lapses

These symptoms are the most common found in women experiencing early menopause.
